Ngimpi

James Lane Allen. Nama ini asing. Seumur-umur baru sekarang tau, kalo beliau adalah penulis kata2 keren berikut ini. Aku taunya dari iklan Mediacorp sebagai TV partner Olimpiade Beijing. Ditayangkan berulang-ulang hampir setiap waktu. Ada beberapa atlet yang dipajang di iklan itu. Ada satu episode yang menayangkan Yelena Isinbayeva, peloncat galah putri Rusia yang berhasil memecahkan rekor loncatan setinggi, 5.03 meter. Ada Kosuke Kitajima, peraih medali emas 100m dan 200m gaya dada Putra di olimpiade Athena. Beberapa lagi, aku ga ingat namanya.

Cocok dengan moto Olimpiade Beijing 2008, “One World, One Dream”, iklan itu selalu disisipi kata-kata ini . Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so you shall become (James Lane Allen). Setiap frase disisipi beberapa highlights aksi-aksi menawan para atlet itu. Dilatar belakangi oleh nuansa lagu rock tahun 80-an (kayaknya sih suara Freddy Mercury, tapi kok sangsi…), plus gambar beningnya di Channel 5 Mediacorp, wah…pas deh. Badan panas dingin. Nahan semangat. Kayaknya orang-orang itu hebat-hebat banget. Bisa menjadi manusia unggulan sejagat raya.

Kalo boleh, aku menterjemahkan secara kasar, “(Dengan kerja keras dan pertolongan Tuhan) Lu jadi apa yang lu mimpi’in”. Jadi inget mimpinya Ikal dan Arai, berguru di altar suci Sorbonne dan berkelana dari Eropa hingga Afrika. Ayo, Mimpi…

Drama Ronaldo

Ini sebuah drama besar antara 3 nama kondang. Cristiano Ronaldo, sang pahlawan Setan Merah, Manchester United dan klub kolektor bintang internasional, Real Madrid. CR7 (demikian sering disebut), pencetak lebih dari 30 gol di berbagai ajang kompetisi, padahal bukan seorang striker. Pemain internasional Portugis ini telah digoda sejak dulu oleh Real Madrid, klub kolektor bintang2 sepak bola. Bahkan konon sang ibu bertitah, “Nak, ibu lebih suka kamu bermain di Santiago Bernabeu daripada di Old Trafford”. Malah si Rafael Nadal ketika memenangi Wimbledon dibisikin oleh bos Madrid, “Ronaldo di tangan kita“. Ronaldo sudah ditawar hingga sekian juta Euro, dan adalah sikap yang bijak pula jika MU tetap kukuh mempertahankan. Wah tambah rumit

Dulu, aku sempat ingat salah satu drama besar antara Beckham, MU dan Real Madrid. Saat itu, Becks masih dalam keadaan Top performanya. Belum layak dijual lah… tapi Sir Alex sudah capek melihat kemilau anak asuhnya di luar lapangan. “terlalu glamor”, katanya. Ga mirip pemain bola blas, uda mirip selebritis. kebanyakan keracunan si posh spice. hehehe… Waktu itu, aku berani taruhan bahwa Becks ga akan pindah ke Los Galacticos. Terlalu besar harga harus yang dibayar Madrid, walaupun kuat bayar. Terlalu beresiko untuk MU melepas salah satu person penting yang membawa Treble winner. Toh, akhirnya….insiden sepatu terbang itu pula lah yang membuat semuanya menjadi terang. Becks ke Madrid dengan kenangan pahit. Dia pergi akibat konflik dengan mentornya, ayah sekaligus pengorbit kecermelangan bintangnya, Alex Ferguson.

Ronaldo lain. Mirip dengan kasus Adebayor. Ronaldinho di PSG dengan Barcelona. Ronaldinho sempat mengancam Mogok main jika tidak diijinkan pindah ke Barca. Robinho pun menirunya kala pengen pindah ke Madrid. Pesona kebintangan mereka sedang bersinar terang. Klub raksasa melirik mereka, menggoda dengan guyuran Euro dan reputasi klub. Tidak ada, setauku, bahwa mereka pernah bermasalah dengan klub, ato manager. Dua-duanya tidak sama dengan Becks. Ato malah Nistelrooy dan Heinze. Dua nama terakhir pergi karena dianggap tidak kompetitif lagi di tim.

Kondisi ini diperuncing pula dengan komentar Sepp Blatter. Jika pemain itu memang pengen pindah, kenapa ga dibiarkan pindah. Analoginya adalah bentuk baru perbudakan klub terhadap pemainnya. Sumber di Old Trafford membantah bahwa ini tidak ada sangkut pautnya dengan uang. Artinya, berapapun yang ditawarkan oleh Madrid tidak akan menggoyahkan MU untuk menjual CR7. Ronaldo harus menghormati kontrak yang telah ditekennya dan akan habis 2012.

Using ymail and Rocketmail

Recently, Yahoo.com promoted their new mail domain. They introduced [userID]@ymail.com and [userID]@rocketmail.com. As I read on several sources, rocketmail, which was owned by Four 11, was one of the first free e-mail services before acquired by Yahoo in 1997. Ymail, hmmm….is it Y(ahoo)mail? Is it intended to be a strong competitor for G(oogle)Mail? Hmmm…interesting…

Yahoo explained that the new domains were added because many desirable e-mail addresses have already been taken for the yahoo.com domain, as well as for localized versions of the namespace in countries around the world.

If we want specific userID which already owned by other user, maybe we should consider this offer. For example, I want to have “blackluna” or “black.luna” as my ID, but this ID (under yahoo) already owned by other users. So, I tried to sign in this service. Alhamdulillah, “black.luna” were not registered yet. When I check the interface, well it’s 100% yahoo.com. I mean no significant change on this. You don’t need to learn anything if you already familiar with yahoomail services before.

How to sign up this new domain? Just go to mail.yahoo.com and sign up. In the domain field drop box, you can choose yahoo.com, ymail.com or rocketmail.com. Then, I thought about this. If this service under yahoo, Can I use their another service, such as Yahoo messenger? The answer is “Yes, you can”. Just fill username box with your [userID] followed with its domain. Example: [UserID]@ymail.com or [UserID]@rocketmail.com. Just see the screenshot if you confused.

My personal opinion, yahoo should raise their awareness for killing spam. I start migrating to gmail this July for above reason. I’m tired separating my mails from disgusting spam by myself.

Spain is the Europe Champion

Spain deserved to be a winner this time. Even, Loew agree with me (hehehe), ““Spain played very well during the whole tournament. and they were technically excellent. They fully deserve victory”. They are truly winner. They never lose since qualification phase and play impressively. Began with killing the bear, Russia, 4-1 and ended with four times Europe champions, Germany, 1-0. They scored totally 12 goals and conceded (only) 3 goals. Noted, they conceded only in the qualifying round. This post is just an appreciation to Spain National Team. I forgot to include them as a candidate for Euro champions in my previous post. Maybe, in the next World Cup, I should consider them as strong nominee for World Champions.

For this championship, I prefer to watch the replay at Global TV in the evening. I have to get up early next morning and I always failed to manage when I have to get up at midnight and watch the Euro games. As my favorite team is Germany and Portugal, I didn’t watch any games that Spanish played. Better I have to watch this evening and see how Fernando Torres and friends beat Germany. That’s why I can’t give you the review about Spain.
